1. Character Name: (This is your character's name!)

(No Name Given) However, it will answer to Khor or “Hey metal guy”

2. Character Backstory: (This is your character's general backstory!)

Khor’s beginning starts in the depths of the Karmeny war machine, vast constructs built for war and bloodshed. Their very being made to burn down the enemies of their Dwarven creators, leaving the plunders of their victory to feed Dwarven greed. In that fiery cycle of blood and war, Khor was birthed into it with open arms. However, his conception started with a Cave Dwarf by the name of Therisan Redgut, A Dwarven golemnancer that produced many golems for the on-going wars. However, Thersan was a gentle heart... well to his wife at least. Yes, his beloved Yornurra Redgut. They were an odd couple as they never could see eye to eye on the ideals of politics, especially when it came to the creation of war machines, this was mostly due to her being a Hill Dwarf of all things. Either way, Therisan felt an increasing need for some ‘home protection’ one might call it. This drive for increased home protection was mostly influenced by the increasing Rhek-ur warbands that approached their lands in an on-going war.

This pressure from the war didn’t make it easy for the respective construction of Khor as most of the golems and their respective parts were used for the war effort. This being the case for many dwarven golemancers caught in the production war, though Therisan spent a good portion of his off-time smuggling parts into his forge. Little by little he gathered enough parts to construct his own War-built Golem. He littered his creation with Dwarven etchings in the armor that give off a slight glow, specifically designed to catch the light of the core and spread it through the body. This was to reduce the chance of someone pinpointing the location of the core, however, his intelligent design was fairly flawed as he placed the core in the direct center of the torso. Long story short he constructed Khor with the intention of it protecting his wife from harm’s way, a purpose that Khor never had the opportunity to fulfill. Khor was confiscated by the local military forces and placed into a box to re-purposed for the frontlines. A frontline that he never actually saw as the men responsible for confiscating Khor decided to grease their hands with merchant gold. That’s right! He was sold to a pair of merchants for a fairly cheap price. So, with his new ‘owners’ they traveled for anoma and this is where his story begins. A Pelagian ship that was heading back for the old world crossed paths with the merchants as they neared Anoma shores. A quick succession of cannon fire caused massive amounts of cargo and debris to be shot out of the ship, effectively forcing the merchants to attempt to run. In a spree of panic, the merchants started tossing heavy cargo off the side of the ship one of the pieces of cargo being the box that contained Knor. Eventually, the chase continues on after the merchant ship as Khor washes ashore of the beach of Caston, near a gentle town of Gorneys.

3. Character's Purpose: (This is what your character seeks to achieve!)

Oocly, I want him to become the guardian of the hill dwarves. However, his RP purpose would most likely be about ‘finding’ a purpose as he currently lost his.

4.  Write a small scenario for how your character reacts to one of the following circumstances, and what ensues:

4b. You come upon a burning building, and you can hear the sounds of someone shouting from within.

In the case of a fire, Khor wouldn’t necessarily be afraid of the flames. Mostly due to his body being made of metal, but also the fact that he hasn’t learned what fear exactly is. Shouting itself would probably pique the curiosity of golem and cause him to move towards the loud noises of what I would assume to be trapped people. Khor then would most likely free the trapped people from the fire and escape to safety himself.

5. Character's primary axis of morality: (What is the most important thing to your character?)

Depending on his purpose that he finds it could vary. However, currently, he doesn’t have a problem with killing as he lacks any understanding of what feelings are. That being said he doesn’t explicitly seek to kill things either, so in that aspect, he’s a neutral creature that can be shifted.

6. Is your character a good person?

He’s not good or bad, he’s just golem. Though, if he becomes the gorney guardian he will most likely be a good person as he’ll do as they say.

1. Why do you want to play an application race?

Besides wanting to mess with mystery and his little home of Gorneys? Well, I’d like to try out golem RP as it seems quite fun. I also think it would be interesting RP for a peaceful Gorney village to have a Warmachine wandering their streets. It’s mostly to build up a clue-less golem that has to learn about the world around him, and I hope one of the by-products of learning the world will cause him to become the Hill Guardian.

2. How long, and through what mediums have you been roleplaying?

Longer than what is considered healthy, if it helps I’m also an LF Event Team Member.

3. Summarize the lore of the specific species you are applying for. This answer very important, tied only with character question number four. Answer with care.

There are a variety of golems that exist, two of which can be played by players. Constructed golems and natural golems. Now unlike natural golems that are created by the gods, constructed golems are created by golemancers of their respective origins. Khors case being created by a hill-dwarf for military use. This means he would lack the built-in tools that other construction golems would have and instead have a sentience core with increased strength. Golems are also created for different reasons and look different depending on their creator’s origin. An example being a Rehk-ur’s golem being completely made of gold and constructed to express their amount of wealth.

Cyprian, your application to play a golem is pending.

Your backstory is superbly written and fits within the lore of the world. The use of etchings and runes to make the glow spread throughout the golem is acceptable, as the core is in an already-obvious place.

Your goal to make your character a protector of Gorneys, and eventually to become a ‘good’ character, fits with the lore. As stated in the Golem lore page, underneath “The Mind of a Golem”, golems act like what their creator desired them to be. As your Golem was created to protect a Gorney, it would make sense that he protects the first Gorneys he sees.

Your neutral morality doesn’t completely align with your backstory. When the golem was given sentience by the golemancer, Therisan Rudgut, he would be slightly good-leaning. He can still be neutral, but being a protector, he would definitely hesitate to kill some things. Either shift his morality to very slightly good-natured, or specify that he has not been given full sentience yet, and the truth of ‘true life’ had not been put in by Redgut. Please note that if you do this, you must give him true life by someone else.

Your lore explanation does not include racial abilities and redlines. Please include definitions of your racial abilities and redlines.
